Privacy simplified. With the free DuckDuckGo browser
You share your most intimate secrets with your search engine: medical, financial, and personal issues, along with all your day-to-day concerns. All that personal information should be private, but – on Google – it’s not. On Google, your searches are tracked, stored, and packaged up into a data profile for advertisers to follow you around the Internet through intrusive and annoying banner ads, using Google’s massive ad networks embedded across millions of sites and apps.
If you are interested in protecting your privacy and blocking websites from tracking you, then read this article to learn how to download and install a new browser.

DuckDuckGo: What to know about the Privacy-Focused Search Engine

I have been using the DuckDuckGO browser for many months now, and find it easy to use without restricting features I use in other browsers. For full transparency, I use multiple browsers daily, partially because I log into many client O365 tenants simultaneously. But this just goes to show that, for me, DuckDuckGo stands strong among the other major browsers in my lineup.

Several months ago, our newsletter introduced you to the DuckDuckGo search engine. It provided information on how to search the web without being tracked, either as a one-time option or by installing an extension in your current browser. The full Windows DuckDuckGo browser has finally been released, making that privacy available through their full-featured browser, along with many more features.
With the release of its Windows browser, the DuckDuckGo browser is now available on all major platforms: Windows, Mac, Android, and iPhone.
If you do switch to DuckDuckGo Search, keep in mind that some of the results you’re used to getting when you search will be different… because unlike other search engines, it doesn’t alter results based on your previous search history. In fact, since they don’t track their users, they don’t have access to search histories at all. Other search engines show you results based on a data profile about you and your online activity, including your search history; based on this profiling, your results can be slanted towards what they think you’re most likely to click on. This effect is commonly known as the search filter bubble. Using DuckDuckGo can help you escape it. For more information on this, try the simple test outlined in our previous article do SEE HOW BIASED GOOGLE IS.
There’s an old adage: “you don’t know what you don’t know”. This begs the question… how are you ever going to know something unless you open your mind (and search engine) to new things. If your search engine continues to provide search results slanted by your biases, then you may never “know what you don’t know.”
DuckDuckGo’s results are not just private, I’ve found them to be accurate and fast. Links to download the browser on your computer or phone:
